Erdogan: End the crackdown now!

Since end of May police is cracking down protesters in Turkey, 5 people are dead, 5000 people are injured. What began as protest against the construction of a shopping mall at Gezi Park in Istanbul turned to a broad protest movement in whole Turkey against the authoritarian politics of the turkish government.

Turkish media, being all in line, did not cover any of the protest and the brutal aggression by police for a long time. Via Social media and own TV the peaceful and creative "Gezi Park resistance" spreads their demands. Find here some links to information and to the avaaz- petition.

# Petition: Erdogan: End the crackdown now!
"The Turkish government is discrediting itself by violently cracking down on citizens who are peacefully assembling and expressing their opinions. As concerned citizens from around the world, we urge you to immediately cease using violence against protesters in Taksim Square — including the use of tear gas and pressurized water. We also call on you to stop the destruction of Gezi Park entirely and to preserve the remaining green areas in Istanbul. No mall is worth the injuries that Turkish citizens have sustained since the peaceful sit-in started."
