An unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe is about to unfold in the detention camps at the Greek-Turkish border – a catastrophe to which both the EU and the Greek government are turning a blind eye. By now, the only way to safeguard the health and life of the immigrants and locals on the Greek islands alike is to proceed to the immediate evacuation of everyone in these camps – this is something that Médecins sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders), Greek hospital personnel, doctors, activists, and even conservative immigration researchers, like Gerald Knaus (one of the architects of the EU-Turkey Deal) agree on.
