The World Social Forum (WSF) is an open meeting place where social movements, networks, NGOs and other civil society organizations opposed to neo-liberalism and a world dominated by capital or by any form of imperialism come together to pursue their thinking, to debate ideas democratically, for formulate proposals, share their experiences freely and network for effective action.
The International Council’s decision to organize the edition 2015 of the WSF, once again in Tunis was taken within the meeting in Casablanca, last November. It responds to a wish formulated by regional and international social movements. After evaluation of the impacts of the WSF 2013 in Tunisia, they estimated that it was still necessary to:
- Consolidate the dynamics of changes born thanks to the Tunisian revolution and to the democratic movements in the region.
- Deepen the debates held about the liberal model crisis and about the civilization crisis.
- Deepen the debates about new geopolitical issues
- Promote alternatives which respect the people rights, and which are based on peace and social justice.
As always, transform! will also participate in this year’s WSF. Our main identity in this forum is to be involved in linking movements and politics, and therefore we always propose seminars regarding the links between these fields.
