Organised by transform! europe and the Iratzar Foundation (Basque Country), this webinar will focus on the political and social control of women’s bodies, one of the axes of the IV. International Marxist Feminist Conference.
Participants will discuss various experiences advocating for the right to legal, free and safe abortion and will share the struggles carried out by Polish, Argentinean and Salvadorian women.
This webinar is part of the activities programmed by the organisers of the International MarxistFeminist Conference that, due to the Covid-19 crises, had to be postponed and will take place from 11 to 13 November 2021, at the Bizkaia Aretoa in Bilbao.
Speakers
Teresa Larruzea: member of the organizing committee and the scientific committee of the 4th International Marxist Feminist Conference.
Laura Salomé: feminist journalist; activist of the National Campaign for the Right to Legal, Safe and Free Abortion (Argentina).
Sylwia Rapicka: pedagogue and political scientist; PhD student at the University of Pedagogy in Krakow; Feminist, anti-capitalist and ally of the LGBT movement.
Sara García: feminist activist, psychologist, master in human rights, member of the Citizens’ Group for the decriminalization of abortion in El Salvador.
Oihana Etxebarrieta: Basque parliamentarian of EHBildu, responsible for feminist policies and member of the Group on Sexual and Reproductive Rights in the parliament.
