European Integration and the Strategic Perspectives of the Radical Left
The crisis of capitalism triggered effects all over Europe and in all social fields. The system of political representation was transformed and is still being transformed in multiple dimensions. The European left started facing great challenges, challenges that concern both the national and the European agenda.
In this research programme our work is based in two main pillars. The one is the the analytical aspect. We study the state of affairs in the European Union and the balance of power both in the various European countries and the European level. We examine the political and social actors (political parties, social movements, trade unions, citizens’ campaigns etc.), as well as the new forms of organising that emerge. The second pillar is the political response of the left, the strategic perspective. What is the current stance of the left in Europe? We look into our very dynamics, our inner contradictions, divergences and trace the convergences that could occur. We aim to contribute to the debate of the left in Europe and we are devoted to building beneficial alliances that serve the European people’s interests and fight against inequality, racism, nationalism, sexism and any kind of fundamentalism.
