Ivan Strachoň
Ivan Strachoň graduated from the University of Forestry and Wood Technology in Zvolen (Slovakia), specialising in wood processing technologies. From 2002-2010 he was a member of the Investment Commission of the City of Ostrava. Ivan Strachoň has been a member of the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia (KSČM) since 2006. Since 2004 he has been elected three times as a representative of the Moravian-Silesian region. From 2004 to 2008 he was the chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee and a member of the Finance Committee of the Moravian-Silesian Regional Council. After the regional elections in 2012, he was elected by the Regional Council as Vice-President. He has been responsible for various sectors, including investment and property, spatial planning and tourism.
